{"id":7172,"date":"2004-04-12T11:05:00","date_gmt":"2004-04-12T15:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.animenation.net\/blog\/2004\/04\/12\/media-blasters-news-from-anime-boston\/"},"modified":"2004-04-12T11:05:00","modified_gmt":"2004-04-12T15:05:00","slug":"media-blasters-news-from-anime-boston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.animenation.net\/blog\/media-blasters-news-from-anime-boston\/","title":{"rendered":"Media Blasters News from Anime Boston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At last weekend&#8217;s Anime Boston convention, Media Blasters announced its acquisition of distribution rights to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sonymusic.co.jp\/Animation\/CKBC\/\" target=\"_blank\">I&#8217;ll\/CKBC<\/a> OAV series, the Viper GTS adult anime series, and the Ryuhei Kitamura directed live action films Alive, Aragami, Ultimate Versus, the live action samurai action\/drama Gojoe, and the Kane Kosugi martial arts film Muscle Heat.<\/p>\n<p>Media Blasters also announced plans to release a new special edition DVD version of the live action film Ichi the Killer.<\/p>\n<p>More of the Bible Black adult anime series will be released in America after it&#8217;s released in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>Media Blasters hinted at possibly having distribution rights to Giant Robo.  Media Blasters CEO John Sirabella stated that a well known &#8220;giant robot&#8221; show that can be associated with &#8220;gin&#8221; jokes is being remastered in Japan. Media Blasters will release the remastered version on American DVD.<\/p>\n<p>The original Japanese licensor no longer has production materials available for the Tales of Eternia anime TV series, so reluctantly had to cancel Media Blaster&#8217;s domestic distribution agreement for the series.<\/p>\n<p>John Sirabella also confirmed Media Blaster&#8217;s plans to evolve into a entertainment production and distribution company not limited to only Japanese animation and manga.
