{"id":4494,"date":"2002-01-31T10:26:00","date_gmt":"2002-01-31T14:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.animenation.net\/blog\/2002\/01\/31\/digital-manga-corporate-shake-up\/"},"modified":"2002-01-31T10:26:00","modified_gmt":"2002-01-31T14:26:00","slug":"digital-manga-corporate-shake-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.animenation.net\/blog\/digital-manga-corporate-shake-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Manga Corporate Shake-Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to a partially unconfirmed report published by <a href=\"http:\/\/66.96.236.80\/article.php?id=1617\" target=\"_blank\">Anime News Network<\/a>, Digital Manga, the parent company of the Omocha Box anime retail store, internet anime news site Akadot, translating company Synch-Point, and Digital Manga Distribution, formerly the anime subdivision of Books Nippan, is preparing to split into two or more separate new companies.<\/p>\n<p>The Japanese anime producer and merchandising company Broccoli has &#8220;poured a large amount of capital into Digital Manga&#8221; and reportedly will take over ownership of at least Synch-Point and Omocha Box, which may affect the availability of Synch-Point anime releases including FLCL and I&#8217;ll Be An Angel.
