Corus Entertainment, the parent company of Canada’s Nelvana Studios, has just announced a new three-year partnership with Japan’s Kodansha Publishing for possible co-production or acquisition of distribution rights outside Asia. Nelvana has already worked with Kodansha in the production of children’s animation including “Babar’s Adventures,” and is the English language distributor of Kodansha owned properties including Card Captor Sakura and Medalot. For at least the next three years all of Kodansha’s new children’s animation programming will be offered to Nelvana for Western distribution ahead of any American translating company.<\/p>\n
