Although no explanation has been given, falling sales due to the higher than average 880 yen cover price per issue may be a contributing factor. Earlier in 2001 AX Magazine began including a CD-ROM in each issue, which quickly gave way to including a 60-75 minute long DVD of anime and video game news and trailers.
