The following year it was adapted into a Japanese live-action television series. The television series was subsequently dubbed into English by Lakeside Television Company and initially broadcast in limited American markets in September 1970 under the name &#8220;The Space Giants.&#8221; In 1979 FBN Publications published a single comic book &#8220;Based on the Popular TV Series.&#8221; The interior introduces the comic to readers saying, &#8220;Goldar, Silver and Gam, the popular TV characters created by Osamu Tezuka are now appearing in a comic book for the first time anywhere!&#8221; The comic features co-writing and art by Richard J. Lynn and co-writing and inking by Pasquale D.
