Toei launched the Toei Robot Girls project initially depicting the classic mecha Mazinger Z, Gaiking, Gakeen, and Baratack as human girls\/robot hybrids back in 2009. A short pilot anime (seen below) was released in 2011. Hiroshi Ikehata, the director of the promotional pilot, will direct the TV series that will star the &#8220;Robot Girls Team Z&#8221; consisting of Z-chan (Mazinger Z), Gre-chan (Great Mazinger), and Grenda-san (UFO Robo Grendizer), supplemented by appearances from Gai-chan (Gaiking), Gacky (Gakeen), Bara-tan (Baratack), and Dandan (Danguard Ace).
