The Japan Animation Creators Association (JAniCA) selected four anime production studios to split 214.5 million yen ($2.65 million USD) from the Japanese government&#8217;s Agency for Cultural Affairs to produce anime specials directed by industry veterans and animated by professional animators-in-training. In 2010, anime studios Ascension, Telecom, P.A. Works, and Production I.G were selected.
