The late director Osamu Dezaki&#8217;s original anime series is loosely based on the concept and setting introduced in creator\/director Kurt Wimmer&#8217;s American motion picture. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crackle.com\/c\/Ultraviolet_Code_044\" target=\"_blank\">Crackle<\/a> has been streaming the anime series online since April 2011.<\/p>\n<p><i>The movie was a massive disappointment because Screen Gems took creative control away from director &#038; star Wimmer &#038; Jovovich.
