The first film of a planned trilogy based on Kentaro Miura&#8217;s dark fantasy manga will open theatrically on February 4.<\/p>\n<p><i>The CG is so terrible that it frequently looks like mediocre amateur rendering. The 2D animation looks nice and sometimes moves very fluidly, but Guts&#8217; head turn at 1:06 is terrible, and the one at 1:15 isn&#8217;t much better. At least scenes like Guts&#8217; sword swing at 1:32 to 1:34 is very fluid, as is the hand motion at 1:38.
