Mikumo was asked to write a ninth volume, and Kadokawa Shoten even formally solicited it, but Mikumo has flatly refused to compose another book in the series.<\/p>\n<p>The ninth novel was tentatively scheduled to be released in a limited edition that would include an OAD. Kadokawa Shoten &#038; animation studio Gainax have not yet clarified if the bonus anime episode will still be produced for an alternate distribution method.<\/p>\n<p><i>I say &#8220;Cheers&#8221; to Mikumo for standing up to pressure and respecting his artistic integrity over corporate demands.
