The series&#8217; final episode ended with a &#8220;To be continued in next season&#8221; promise, which fans worldwide have taken as a promise. However, Gainax&#8217;s Dantalian no Shoka anime series is set to premiere in July, and Gainax has never had two concurrently airing anime television series before (excepting the concurrent broadcast of Boukyaku no Senritsu and Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai, but Boukyaku no Senritsu was primarily animated by J.C.Staff).
