The highly anticipated film from the creator of <i>Voices of a Distant Star<\/i> and <i>5cm Per Second<\/i> will open theatrically in Japan on May 7.<\/p>\n<p><i>I have a tremendous amount of adoration and respect for Makoto Shinkai&#8217;s films, but I&#8217;m not so enamored that I can&#8217;t say that all of them also have weaknesses.
