Creator Soubee Amako&#8217;s Rakudai Ninja Rantaro children&#8217;s manga premiered in 1986. An anime television series adaptation premiered in 1993. The television series is currently in its 18th season.<\/p>\n<p>8 year-old Seishiro Kato will make his lead actor debut starring as the ninja-in-training Rantaro in the historical adventure comedy. Takeshi Miike has plenty of experience directing live action films based on manga &#038; anime, having directed films including Naniwa Yuukyoden, Salaryman Kintaro, Crows Zero, Yatterman, and the MPD Psycho television drama.
