It looks as if the movie was the introduction to a series, but I have never seen a Steamboy series.  Did it never get made?  or was it just not realesed in america?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>Answer:<\/strong><br \/>\nAt least so far, no further Steamboy anime has ever been produced. In late 2004 there were rumors of Steamboy creator Katsuhiro Otomo considering a sequel untitled &#8220;Steamgirl,&#8221; but that plans has either been discarded or indefinitely delayed. Since the release of Steamboy, Otomo has directed the live action film adaptation of Yuki Urushibara&#8217;s Mushishi manga, and drawn the character and concept sketches for Nissin&#8217;s Freedom Project OVA series.
