A press confrence in Taiwan yesterday formally announced the development of a live action TV series adaptation of Yoshiki Nakamura’s shoujo manga Skip Beat. The Taiwanese production will star Ariel Lin and Jerry Yan. Lin previously starred in “It Started With a Kiss,” the Taiwanese live action adaptation of Kaoru Tada’s shoujo managa Itazura na Kiss. Yan previously stared in “Meteor Garden,” the popular Taiwanese adaptation of Yoko Kamio’s shoujo manga Hana Yori Dango.<\/p>\n

Ariel Lin will play protagonist Kyoko Mogami, a teen girl that vows to succeed in show business in order to spite her childhood crush, a rising pop idol who has treated her unfairly. Jerry Yan will play Kyoko’s acting coach Ren Tsuruga.<\/p>\n

The Taiwanese drama will be distributed in Japan through internet broadcast and DVD.<\/p>\n
