Umineko no Naku Koro ni Anime Announced

Reportedly anime production and distribution company Frontier Works has formally announced the development of an anime TV series based on the Umineko no Naku Koro ni (When They Cry – Seagulls) amateur created mystery visual novel game produced by 07th Expansion.

07th Expansion’s earlier doujin game series Higurashi no Naku Koro ni has been adapted into two anime television series and a live action feature film. Similar to the “Higurashi” franchise, the “Umineko” game revolves around a series of mysterious murders occuring on the island of Rokkenjima in October 1986.
