Japan’s October Anime
|The following anime series will premier on Japanese TV next month:
Muteki-oh Trizenon [Great Peerless Trizenon] (Oct. 14, TBS)- a mecha action show from Rui Arizumi, creator of Slayers
Gear Fighter Dendo (Oct.4, TV Tokyo)- the latest Sunrise giant robot series
Yami no Matsuei [Descendant of Darkness] (Oct. 2, non-scrambled WOWOW)- a supernatural horror/mystery series
Vandred (Oct. 3, non-scrambled WOWOW) Studio Gonzo’s (Blue Sub #6) long-awaited digital anime and CG sci-fi series about space pirates.
Hiou Senki (Oct. 24 NHK)- a children’s show about Edo-era ninjas and their clockwork-driven robot.
Argent Soma (Oct. 5, TV Tokyo)- a new Sunrise Studios action/horror late-night show.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devichil (Oct. 7, TBS)- based on the Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children Gameboy games, think of it as evil Pokemon.
Gravitation (Oct. 4, non-scrambled WOWOW)- a life-sim romance
Sci-Fi Harry (Oct. 6, TV Asahi)- an odd mystery/adventure from Studio A.P.P.P., the creators of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures and Ima Soku ni Iru Boku
Jinzo Ningen Kikaidar the Animation [Artificial Humanoid Kikaidar] (Oct. 16 Kids Station)- an anime adaptation of the classic sentai hero
Hajime no Ippo [The First Step] (Oct. 3, Nihon TV)- a boxing drama produced by Mad House
Gambler Densetsu Tetsuya [Gambler Legend- Tetsuya] (Oct. 6, TV Asahi)- mah-jongg gambling adventures based on famous Japanese mah-jongg champion Asada Tetsuya
Gakkou no Kwaidan [Ghost Stories in School] (Oct. Fuji TV)- an anime adaptation of the long-running haunted school movie series
