Yamada-kun Subtitled DVD

According to our Japanese distributor, the Japanese DVD version of the latest Studio Ghibli movie, Isao Takahata’s Tonari no Yamada-kun (My Neighbors the Yamadas) will feature Japanese dialogue with optional English, French and Chinese subtitles. Yamada-kun, which premiered in Japanese theaters last July, is a quirky collection of vignettes about daily life in contemporary Japan. The 104 minute long film is scheduled for release on VHS and DVD on November 17th. We haven’t been informed of whether the disc will have any region lock-out or not.
