Bandai has announced that a limited edition version of the upcoming PlayStation 2 robot action game Mobile Suit Gundam will be released on December 21st. The limited version will include a specially made crystal clear MS Selection RX-78-2 Gundam figure. The game is an 3rd person action/shooting game which pits Amuro Rei (the player) in the RX-78 against the invading colony forces during the One Year War including arch-enemy Char Aznable, squads of Zakus, Ranba Ral, and even the aircraft carrier Gau. The player has to coordinate with your support suits, the gun-tank and the gun-cannon. There will be over 40 minutes of CG movie scenes and remake animation movie sequences throughout the game. The game is being developed by a joint-team of creators that worked on both the PSX Zeta Gundam & Char’s Counterattack games, and the Dreamcast Gundam team.

There is an unconfirmed rumor that Square is planning to postpone the release of Final Fantasy X from March 2001 to summer 2001 due to unexpected difficulty programming for the Playstation 2.

Capcom has confirmed that their highly anticipated PlayStation 2 samurai survival/adventure game Onimusha is scheduled to release in Japan on January 25, for 7800 yen, in DVD-ROM format. A special DVD-ROM Making of Onimusha disc will be packaged with the first pressings of the game. Internet compatible Dreamcast versions of Capcom’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures and Super Street Fighter IIX (Turbo) will go on sale on December 22nd, exclusively through Sega’s Japanese on-line retail outlet D-Direct.

Indrema Corporation has announced that the Linux based game console the Indrema L600 is scheduled to launch in North America in spring 2001. About 30 game titles will be released simultaneously with the system. The Indrema L600 features a 600 Mhz processor and the nVidia 3D graphics chipset, 1 USB port, and four 100Mbps Ethernet ports. The machine is internet ready, and has an on-board DVD player. The retail price of The Indrema L600 will be $299 US. An optional cordless keyboard and cordless mouse will be released simultaneously, as optional components.
