Third Appleseed Movie Announced

Sony Pictures and anime studio Lucent Pictures Entertainment are now developing Appleseed Alpha, a CG anime prequel to the 2004 & 2007 CG anime films. Shinji Aramaki, who directed the first two movies, will return to direct the third picture. Appleseed Alpha will depict the time Deunan & Briareos spent in the wasteland before migrating to the city of Olympus. The movie is tentatively scheduled for release this summer.
