Tartan Films USA Closed

Variety Magazine has reported that Tartan Films USA has closed and all of the company’s American assets, including its physical property and its catalog of 101 films, are being sold. Tartan Films USA was formerly the American distributor of noteable Japanese films including Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Doppelganger, Koji Shiraishi’s Carved, Yoji Yamada’s The Hidden Blade, Takeshi Shimizu’s Marebito, Shinya Tsukamoto’s Tetsuo, Vital, and A Snake of June, and Park Chan-wook’s Korean adaptation of the manga Oldboy.

Tartan Film’s UK branch is still active.
