Rumiko Takahashi Anime Coming to DVD

Viz producer/translator Toshifumi Yoshida has revealed to the Ranma 1/2 Perfect Edition website that the Ranma TV series and Maison Ikkoku will be released on DVD later this year. Beginning this summer, Viz will debut its sixth season of the Ranma TV series with 3 episodes per volume on simultaneous VHS and DVD releases. The earlier TV seasons will be released as DVD boxed sets this fall. Also scheduled is a DVD release of at least the first 36 episodes of Maison Ikkoku, the episodes that are currently available in both subtitled and dubbed VHS format. If the Maison Ikkoku DVDs sell well, Viz may decide to begin dubbing the series again, particularly for the DVD version.
