New Look at Ponyo

AV Watch now hosts the first publicly released cel art image of Ponyo from Hayao Miyazaki’s upcoming film “Gake no Ue no Ponyo” (“Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea”). The image is attached to an announcement that Japanese consumers that purchase select Ghibli video library Blu-ray releases beginning July 2nd will receive a limited edition “Ponyo on a Cliff” commemorative match box.

According to Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki, animation work on Gake no Ue no Ponyo is now 80-90% complete. The film is scheduled to open theatrically in Japan on July 19th.
