Manga Entertainment News from Nan Desu Kan

The Evangelion movies now have a release date of January for the VHS version and March 2002 for the DVD version. The $29.95 DVD version will include dub out-takes, character bios, tentatively an original interview with director Hideaki Anno, and some of the supplemental information contained in the Japanese Eva movie program, known to fans as the “Red Cross Book.”

Manga Entertainment revealed at this past weekend’s Nan Desu Kan convention that a DVD version of Bio-Booster Armor Guyver is currently in the works. A subtitled only DVD version of Gunbuster will be out sometime before next summer. The Rayearth OAVs will be available on DVD in February. Giant Robo will be on DVD in May 2002, and the Fist of the North Star TV series will be released as a series of DVD boxed sets beginning next year.

Manga has acquired the American license to the 26 episode Shadow Skill TV series.

Blood: The Last Vampire has sold well enough in America to convince Production IG to begin work on a sequel film. New Street Fighter Zero (Street Fighter Alpha) anime is also in the works in Japan.
