GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class Anime in Development

The Japanese Moon Phase Diary reports the unconfirmed, uncited news that a survey from NetMile Research has inadvertently confirmed that AIC is developing an anime adaptation of Satoko Kiyuzuki’s slice-of-life manga series GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class. The ongoing GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class manga series premiered in 2004, illustrating the daily lives of five freshman girls in a high school art class. Reportedly Hiroaki Sakurai (Di Gi Charat) will direct; Doko Machida (Wolf’s Rain) will write the screenplay; and Atsuko Watanabe (Fight Ippatsu! JÅ«den-chan!!) will provide character designs.

Original creator Satoko Kiyuzuki may be better known to American manga fans as the creator of Shoulder a Coffin, Kuro. Yen Press will release its first English translated volume of the GA manga in April 2009.
