Nagato might be better, but she's proven herself that Haruhi could easily defeat her. In fact, NAgato used Haruhi's power to accomplish something she herself could not.

What if the Haruhi is God theory is wrong? That is only Koizumi's faction's theory after all.

That is a good point. We've never seen Haruhi conciously use her powers.

^ Yeah, but Haruhi doesn't use them consciously. She uses them unconsciously, which means that the moment the world looks like it's the sort of world she doesn't want to live in, it changes to suit her tastes.

She doesn't have to be God; she just has to be the trigger for God's "reset button".

It doesn't happen instantly or predictably. It doesn't happen the moment she is dissatisfied. It starts with closed spaces and grows slowly. Only local changes like talking cats and birds changing color happen right away. If she has no concious control. she might not be able to use her power when she needs it especially if she is flat footed, uncertain or conflicted. That's assuming Haruhi even is God which only one of three factions believes.

Yeah, but the other factions recognize her powers. The Time Travelers recognize that she's the epicenter of the Timequake, as well as the force into which Nagato tapped to alter reality. The IDSE acknowledges her capacity for the spontaneous creation of new data (i.e.: the power of autoevolution/creation), and are suitably cowed by Kyon's threats to refrain from punishing Nagato too harshly.

Even if the other two factions don't call Haruhi "god" by name, they acknowledge that she has the same powers one would normally associate with a "god".

Well if we are going to go beyond what we know for certain with character abilities then anything goes. Donald Duck is invincible.

That's not the same as her being God. In the other views, she didn't create the current universe. In none of them is it assrued that she could use her power reliably or quickly enough to make a difference in combat. The only difference is what would hapen to the universe if she did die.

You guys were talking about diety type characters, but if we're only talking humans than I think it's a tie between Revy and the Russian Mob girl with the scarred face from Black Lagoon. I didn't finish the manga, and never saw the anime, so I don't know if they actually ever fought.

I guess that disqualifies my whole post
