I am in strong support to disable registration completely, at least temporarily. These trolls need to stop creating accounts with disgusting names.

I agree with this. I have no idea why they started coming on here or what they actually want but it's a little disconcerting to see these names pop up every day for no reason.

On a whim, I agree with what OP is saying about the Hentai forum, especially concerning the age demographic of the forum (even 13 is a bit young to have access to porn, IMO).

However, this is an Anime board owned by a store which sells the very content being discussed in those sections of the forum, and those sections are offering a tiny piece for freedom of thought as well as promoting a product, I can't say it should be removed entirely.

As well, I think the problems with this board, regarding child proof locks on the adult sections. Are just about the same problems every other forum on the internet (including those strictly adult only) have to deal with while the internet is not completely locked down. There's not much anyone on the internet can do about that.

Thank You. I originally came here because of the hentai sub-forum because it was so well ran. Most normally start to deteriorate over time with out people being mindful of what is occurring in such sub-forms.

There are adults who visit this forum, like myself, who know how to keep things under control and discuss such items as well as many other topics with a bit of discretion. I agree that there must be controls to keep certain materials out of the hands of minors, but board censorship isn't that answer just to keep a few people happy. We have items on this board that I don't care for, but I just choose to ignore them, because I happen not to be a fan of Gundam, Bleach, Studio Ghibli, etc.

As far as the names that have been getting out of hand, couldn't a moderation queue be set up to control such names? I've been an admin on other boards that have done just that with vBulletin software.

Honestly, I know this is something that AN has no control over, but the spambots with the Pedophile names are more offensive to me. I can avoid the Hentai section if I wish...the spambots show up everywhere.

Not really, some sites put up a "insert your date of birth" thing but then people just insert a fake one. pretty much all it does is cut down on what overzealous parents can do.
