I think you may be confusing something there. Discotek did pick up the original (Green jacket), but it's never been licensed before and there is no Bang Zoom dub that I'm aware of (link). Part II (Red jacket), which Geneon released, was (partially?) dubbed. I've got the 15 or so singles of that, but I've heard they dubbed more eps than that?

Would be nice if the new series got a home video release. I do remember them saying at the Anime Boston panel that simulcast views determine that kinda thing though. In other words, strong streaming numbers = home video release. Weak streaming numbers = nada.

How does this Spring stack up to Spring of 10 years ago? Not very well

Azumanga Daioh, Chobits, Ai Yori Aoshi, Abenobashi, King of bandit Jing, .Hack//Sign, Mega Man NT Warrior, Whistle, Cheeky Angel were some pretty great titles. Tenchi Muyo GXP wasn't bad either

Personally, I've seen about 10 of those shows and the only real standouts were The Twelve Kingdoms (one of my top 15 anime) and Full Moon (VIZ ). I have wanted to see Cheeky Angel for a while now though.

So far, I prefer this years offerings. Fate/Zero S2 opened on an epic scale, Space Brothers was a real nice surprise and I'm really looking forward to Kids on the Slope and Jormungand, just to name a few.

It's all totally subjective anyway.

Is this new Lupin III a reboot or does it continue from the previous version?

There's a fair amount of pretty forgettable stuff in there too.

I have yet to see it, but it looks like a prequel of sorts.

First episode of Upotte was strange, but funny. Kind of weird looking with the Kanokon character designs

Its a prequel. And steers closer to the original manga than the older series.

@ZeroRyoko. Meh. Compared to 10 years ago, Spring 2012 looks much better. Lupin 2012,Is This a Zombie?,Kids on The Slope,Mysterious Girlfriend.X sounds lot more memorable than Chobits,Dot Hack,Azumanga Daioh,Magical Shopping Arcade A.

While 2002 is a historically important year for anime,I mean let's face it, it was the year the boom started. It was an overall forgettable season of new releases.

Sure you had GetBackers(it had already been running for several months at the time since late 2001) & Kaleido Star which came out later that year. But 2003 had a better lineup. SAC,Full Metal Alchemist,R.O.D TV,Fumoffu,Sonic X,Real Bout High School.

P.S. I've watched Azumanga. I still enjoy it.

Story:

DUSK MAIDEN OF AMNESIA revolves around a first-year high school student, Teiichi Niiya who had just enrolled at Seikyou Private Academy. CR will be streaming Queen's Blade Rebellion (link) and Medaka Box (link).

Queen's Blade Rebellion
Quote:
Gainos and the entire Continent has fallen under a tyrannical rule led by Claudette, the Thundercloud Queen and victor of the last Queen's Blade tournament. Annelotte, a brave young knight and exiled princess, leads a band of rebels called the Rebel Army to overthrow Claudette and restore peace and order to the Continent.
Medaka Box
Quote:
Story:

Charming and intelligent, Medaka is a martial arts master in the 10th grade: a girl of simplicity and fortitude. And what’s more, she is heiress to a mega rich family. It's no surprise she's elected as a member of the student council. Anytime you have a problem, file a complaint with her office and she will find a practical solution, even though it will be a very eccentric one.

Tried watching Queen's Blade Rebellion on CR and didn't get that far in since it was pretty heavily censored. It's a shame too since seasons 1 & 2 are already available on CR uncensored so I was hoping Rebellion would be the same way. Guess I'll stick with fansubs while hoping for an eventual BD release.

It is stupid to try to get people off fansubs by offering legal but censored episodes, I mean no one wants to look at parts of a show, that's like buying a DVD and saying "Lol, I'll skip 2 or 3 minutes here and there at random." I thought that if you paid you could get the uncensored version of the stream but I guess not.
