quick upgrade question

while I was working at fye I was special ordering mobile suite Gundam, only prob was that they had already been discontinued when I ordered so I wasn’t able to get them all, only missing 8 and 10

now my question is should i upgrade to the box set that is out and coming out or should I just get the last two dvds that i need

Get the new box sets since they are remastered and unlike the previous DVD's they include the Japanese as well as the English. They also include the original OP & ED for the entire show.

Remastered comparison: (Top is old DVD, bottom is the new remastered)

There is a flaw in the remastered DVD however. It really depends on your setup but if you have a surround sound system you'll be disappointed in the English audio since for some reason Bandai made it mono. Of course the Japanese is mono since its from 1979 but I've seen the old Bandai DVD's and the English audio was in full stereo. Why Bandai mastered it in mono is a mystery to me but then again they always screw things up.

The real highlight of the remastered release is the Japanese audio.

Well I guess since I dont use surround sound it wont matter much for me lol..

This as well will probably be my next purchase.. Especially since its a boxset, that I can handle.

I read that there are syncing issues with the dub as well. First they made it mono & now bad syncing. Bandai messing with us, they love it!

I recommend watching it subbed if you get the remastered sets. Its a fun experience to watch the audio how it was recorded back in 1979.
