You know what I hate? (Spoilers)

I hate how as soon as I start to get into an Anime, such as Desert Punk, it just ends. Same thing happened with Air Gear. Also, I was watching Kenichi the other night, (good anime by the way) and I hated the ending. I mean, final battle and then Bam! it ends. I mean the entire show they build up his relationships with Miu and it doesn't even show him telling her he likes her, no kiss, nothing. I mean seriously? Kenichi was a long series too, so I kinda expected a more......Idk satisfying ending I suppose. Anyone else think so?

I think in the case of a lot of shows thesedays (Air Gear might count) a lot of anime are based off manga's, often they get animated while the manga's are still going so eventually they fall into the trap of catching up, or studios just continue to play it safe thesedays only making ~12 or ~25 episode seasons. Sometimes you'll get more seasons, sometimes you won't...

So it happens and yeah, not the most exciting thing usually.

Welcome to Shonen. If Naruto is anything to go buy, you'd need another 300 episodes before there is any progress in the main relationship. Naruto is up to like 450+ and there still isn't a real deal romantic relationship started yet.

Never forget that this stuff is made for little kids to young teens with the goal of stringing it along as far as possible for as long as possible to keep the money train flowing. Any real character development just brings it one step closer to ending.

This isn't just true for shounen though, many anime either end with the relationship starting or without anything having happened at all. Usualy they hint that, for example, the two characters finally get together but I have not seen a lot of shows where they actually get into a real romantic relationship during the middle of the season and then continue on as the relation progresses. They seem to think that once the couple is together its over while I think they could continue afterwards, though it might just be their making a parallel to the real life saying "Life ends after marriage."
