I read that earlier today, and I really hope that article is not right. If it is, any and all sympathy I had for anyone involved in this doesn't exist, and they all deserve prison or worse.

As for McQueary, there is speculation that he is still there because if they fire him he could sue for whistleblower statute rules OR maybe he knows more than he is saying and they are afraid that if they fire him he will talk.

While I'm thinking from a UK point of view, certain positions here (ie teachers, doctors etc) have a responsibility to report abuse. If someone knew that kids were getting abused and didn't report it then they're guilty of a crime. Not quite as bad, but they're going to get into a lot of trouble.

What bothers me is these riots over a guy who fundamentally helped covered up child abuse being fired.

Indeed, & if I'm hearing it right from ESPN, the students & fans there are STILL rioting & camping out on Paterno's lawn. I think they need to get a grip & go back to class, this is only making their stupidity look worse. And I also agree that if this stuff is true, then Sandusky needs to spend some time in general population of the roughest prison they can put him in, the inmates can pimp HIM out to each other, seems like an appropriate punishment to me.

To be fair, Paterno -did- fulfill the legal minimum for reporting the abuse. Of course morally, that was far from enough...

Yeah, I read about that yesterday. Man, if that rumor turns out to be true, then Sandusky is indeed a monster who should be thrown in prison and never see the light of day again.

Wow lol Penn State was a bastion of the good of college football and it was really just rotten to the core. Also I laugh at all the retard students who think Paterno's football legacy is more important than this. I hope Nebraska destroys them tomorrow.

To me it his actions show he didn't care. if you report something like that and 2 years later nothing has happened, you don't just let it go.

I am betting he was getting death threats for turning in JoePa.

Indeed he will get violently sodomized in prison in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if inmates try to KILL Sandusky after hearing what he did to those boys.

Rayearth is correct. This is very sad & tragic case. And a sad example of what happens when loyalty reaches dangerous levels of deity and corruption resulting in the cover up of child molesation. Joe Pat probably was in a state of shock after Mike told him what he saw back in 2002 & probably was in denial about the whole thing & couldn't believe his best friend was a violent sexual predator and prolific pedophile.

Joe displayed poor judgement and thefore deserves to be fired no matter how much good he's done for Penn State & those rioters should be ashamed of themselves.

I feel sorry for Mike. He has alot of remorse and guilt for not reporting it to authorities. We need to think about what we have done if we were in his shoes.
I'll tell you what I had done: Immediately STOPPED Sandusky, saved the boy, and alerted police A.S.A.P. with a split second to think about whether or not to delivery vigilante justice on that ******phile Sandusky.

No, it was how he acted when he saw the act, and the fact that, at the time, JoePa was fired and McQueary was still on the staff.

This whole situation at Penn State is one massive cluster ****.
