Servants/Master/Partner anime

Anyone else starting to find this formula a bit overused and cliche? Don't get me wrong, I loved Fate/stay night, Sekirei and Hayate no Gotoku! but other shows that use this formula just seem very uninteresting.

Here's a few shows that follow this trend:

Zero no Tsukaima
Otome
Freezing
The Law of Ueki
Soul Eater
Onmyo Taisenki

I know there's more I could list but you get the idea. What are your thoughts on this trend? Do you enjoy watching this type of stuff or do you think it has gotten old?

I guess it depends on how its done, Fate/Stay Night and Elemental Gelade did it very well though shows like The Familiar of Zero could have done better.

There's also Blood+ (2005). The rest that I can think of have been mentioned already or are in much older Anime. 3x3 Eyes for example.

From the 80s there is Dirty Pair's Kei and Yuri.
