Huh, my problem with Crest/Banner is that unlike LOGH, it only develops one side of the war. That said, still a huge fan myself!

I almost watched Banner of the Stars. Yet another show I'll have to get around to eventually. Oh boy...

I'm sad Sunrise probably doesn't care to animate more of this series.

I don't think Sunrise has the funds anymore. Bandai and all it's affiliates are taking a big hit.

Tekkaman Blade is great. Although there's some episodes that feel like really bad filler with a huge drop in animation quality. But when its focus is on the main story its epic & intense stuff.

I'm surprised I didn't think of that one. One of the best rivalries ever.
May as well recommend Casshern Sins as well, I found them both to be pretty comparable. Share the same composer as well. |

Here's some other ones.. Probably havn't been mentioned yet as the "mecha" included in them is a little less conventional then other series..
Xam'd The Lost Memories (idk if this could be included as mecha but it seems most do) Infinite Ryvius (not that much mecha.. and again idk if its actually even considered mecha; may be undefined.) Blassreiter (sentinent monster things that fuse with tanks/motorcycles/ect) Vandread Heroic Age Fafner oh and how'd i forget about the GUNDAM series! lol.. jk i know there's some others that i've watched that arn't on that list lol.. I have a feeling like im forgetting 1 or 2 other BONES series.. But this is a nice list a lot of those on there I havn't ever seen.. Sucks that the older ones will remain subbed.. Oh, Votoms how i've always wanted to watch you but jus' can't make it past the subtitles.

Yeah Infinite Ryvius never really registers in my mind as a mecha series, more space/drama I'd say. But there's no denying there's some mecha stuff in there. But if we're talking LOGH and Crest/Banner of the Stars in this thread , may as well recommend it though! The claustrophobic atmosphere is the best, can't think of any other show out there that gives me a vibe like Ryvius does. Rewatched it last year and it was a blast a second time around as well, one I'll be rewatching a lot I'm sure.

Infinite Ryvius is a sci-fi series but I wouldn't call it a mecha series.

Well like i said there's not that much mecha in it.. But there certainly is some.. And some of the fights can get pretty intense.. Plan on rewatching the series again pretty soon myself; but it's only been a few months since i marathoned it lol.. But yeah, it's not one of my favorites because of it's mecha it's one of my favorites because of how realisitc the characters are and how character-driven the plot is.. And i loved Koji x Aoi's relationship.
@Ryvius: Is you're name from Infinite Ryvius? lol.. Oh and yeah, i'am not much of a subtitle guy there's only a few animes i've watched in subs and CG was the only one i've finished in subs and the only reason i did is to say i've watched it both sub and dubbed tbh lol.. Honestly, if i were to watch any subbed anime it'd be LOGH's, but being that it's 100+ episodes long and fansubbed only or whatever i doubt it's a good series to get into subs with.

I've watch a few episodes of Big O.. Just recently i tried to pick it up and watch it again but couldn't.. It's just too slow paced.. I'am not really a fan of batman either which i see most people compare it too.. IDK, not enough military intrigue/drama/romance for me.. But i only watched a few ep's that were far and between from eachother..
I don't know if i'll ever be able to finish The Big O.. I never liked it when it was on Cartoon Network either; back when it was all the rage. @Ryvius: Yes.. Infinite Ryvius is in a league all of its own IMO.
