Okay... I was baffled by why they would leap. I found a article saying they were released from class and three of them decided to jump out the window to get out faster.

I wouldn't have thought that any person physically capable of jumping out a first-floor window would be likely to suffer injury from such a drop.

Obviously, I've underestimated morbid obesity in Texas.

Am I the only one who thinks it's counter productive to jump out a window to get out faster if you spend the next day in an hospital bed or worst, dead.

well they didn't realize that gravity was at work and they needed to bend their knees to absorb the impact or not expect a belly flop to end well. maybe if they posted a no diving sign by the windows they would of been okay.

This sign should of done well enough warning them not to dive and there was no pool outside the windows.

Also if she dove headfirst out the window, it's not going to take a lot to, say, break her neck or something.

Man, I thought Texas State U had pretty decent intelligence standards to weed the dumb people out. I guess in order to get a quick buck they have lowered their standards.

Sorry I guess I went over this part a little too fast when I first read, only 6 feet, I don't care how fat you are you have to jump in the dummest way possible to injure yourself in that fall.

I guess you could jump and die like that... I've seen Lara Croft do it. You have to somersault and land on your neck. Other than that I'm not sure.
