your speakers/ home theater setup

so what's everyone have for sound?

right now i'm using the YSP-4000 along with a Klipsch sub-12

i like the yamaha YSP line. i think they are the best soundbar systems, period!
it REALLY sounds (once you set it up right) like you have a true 5.1 system. you have to have a sub to go with it though. they do not make enough bass alone.

I rent a unit so i cant blast movies or music. i usually wear head phones when listening to music an gameing. I want some beats by dre head phones.
I have a $10 set of speakers for my pc lol. I have a cool boom box for when i do listen to music not on head phones.
I gota good tv but no good amp or speaker set up.
If/When i get my own house i'll def invest in good sound set up.

For $70 these bad boys can kick. Of course they're just for the comp, but they can make the floor rumble when watching Band of Brothers in Blu-Ray and that my friends, is true pleasure.

I have an Onkyo HT-R538 AV Receiver. I purchased it as a "Home Theater in a box" setup with 5.1 speaker system, but they were all those dinky little satellite speakers. I replaced the fronts with some Sony floorstanding speakers for a bit of extra punch.

It has enough inputs that I can pretty much run everything through it. Video output is hooked up to a 32" Samsung LCD TV. It has a decent upscaler and makes even my old consoles look reasonable... as long as I'm using S-Video or better anyway.

With PS3 to provide Blu-Ray and games, plus XBOX 360 for additional gaming goodness, it's a hell of a system. I also hooked a PC up to it for all the extra joys that can provide.

Personally I don't have anything too fancy. I'm cool with my iPod and the sound system my car came with. I listen to the majority of my music on my way to and from school. My parents, however, have an extensive collection of Bose stereos that are just amazing.

Ironically, I don't have that great of a home sound system, considering I need to listen carefully to music if I'm trying to play covers on bass.

I just have a couple of ****** half broken cheap speakers, have no bass at all and barely hold any weight.

I really need to invest in a set of good quality speakers.

I had a 5.1 Klpsitch Surround sound system, they were good speakers but the amplifier crapped out after a while.

As for my car, I don't think my Nissan has Boss speakers but they seem to be high quality, with an AUX input for my iPod.

I live in my parents house (Bedroom, not basement or attic.)

And believe me my Bass amp could bring the house down if I wanted to.

this is another reason I choose not to move out of the house.

lucky for me i live on an end unit in a condo, and the only person i share a wall with is a little old lady that is half-deaf.

she can't hear anything. i even cranked it up REAL loud one time, then when over to her unit and asked if it was too loud. she said: "is what to loud?"

I don't have a sound system. I'm satisfied with the speakers on my flat screen TV. That's not to say I wouldn't like a nice sound system.

I don't, but it's not necessarily true anyway. You don't have to crank up the sub to maximum and play your movies at top volume to appreciate a surround sound system.

Personally I live in a detached house. You can barely hear the system outside the room I use it in though.

I live in a rowhouse with thin walls, but I crank up the volume on my set-up when watching movies.
