I don't know about anyone else, and I'll be the first to admit that OoT was the title that pretty much ushered what 3rd person adventure games are as we know it today, but being someone who tried to play the game recently (Say, about 2 years now) this game definitely doesn't age too well...

Majora's Mask is the game people should talk about as being that good. ![]() That said, OoT is still pretty fun even if it ages like crap. I imagine the graphical update will make a lot of the more tedious areas of the game (hi Water Temple) become less annoying and generally make it feel more varied. Plus they could do more with the plot, extra content, etc. I am a little disappointed that we have no new original IP stuff and most of the Nintendo stuff seems to just be remakes. I expected a bit better for the launch of a platform they pretty much know will be successful. |

), but yeah, I really never got the OoT hype. It's LttP in a 3rd person view, and that's cool I guess if you're really jonesin' for that kind of thing, but other than what it did on a genre defining level, it's an alright game. The mummies still scare the **** outta' me though. ![]() Quote:

What gives you that impression? The only remote similarity is two male characters with long red hair (And one doesn't keep it ~)

I exaggerated... But the dude with the red hair reminds me of a mixture of Genis's hair, Zelos's hair colour and can't remember whose white dress his clothes reminds me of (Colette or Mithos or a white alternate of Lloyd's/Kratos)... And I also see a Colette look-alike there but she's got a headband... The whole cast just looks like alternate versions of one another... XP

O.o I see no resemblance between Natalia and Collette, again beyond their hair colour.

I had a chance to try a 3DS in a shop over the weekend. It didn't have any games for it, the lady demoing it was just taking 3D pictures... and there was a little Augmented Reality game where you shoot a floating head in the room where you're standing.
It was kind of ok, but I didn't really like it. It's got a 3D effect and if you move your head a little to the sides, it moves along with that, but if you move too far it really breaks the picture and you see two completely different ones. I ended up feeling a bit odd after looking at it for a while. I don't really like it. I found myself thinking.... it's really not going to be good as a proper portable like that; I mean, if you're planning on using it while on a bus or train - the bumps as you travel are going to mess things up. Oh and it probably won't be the same for proper games, but when you switch the console from 3D to 2D, and you're looking at a photo, it makes the photo seem horribly fuzzy and low res. So now I've seen one, I am definitely thinking [no thanks]. I dunno, when all you have to compare is *actual reality*, the fake 3D effect just isn't impressive.

I would hold judgement until I played an actual game, personally.

I mean, if you feel like that already and you haven't even went through the paces of running an actual game yet, that's not a good sign.

I would like to get a 3DS sometime. I have a DSL; however, I refuse to get rid of mine because I like using it for my GBA games. I am assuming that the 3DS plays normal DS games…. As far as the 3DS being region locked it does not bother me at all since I have never purchased import games.

Just saying, one short demo without real software is a little to early to judge. |
