Best Anime Moments of All Time!

I hadn't seen this thread around and didn't find it when I searched for it, so figured I'd post it.

What we'll delve into here are those moments in an anime that made you cry, laugh, leave you speechless, made you yell "Hell Yeah!" (or something like it) and things like that. A Crowning moment of Awesome, of heartwarming, a tearjerker, something terrifying. Can be from any genre of anime, but just a moment, or moments, that stand out to you as some of the best moments in anime, moments that shaped how you saw or thought about anime.

And PLEASE, use spoilers if the moment is a big moment, or a series changing moment or something along those lines. Just put the name of the anime first, followed by the spoiler like I've done to make it easiest.

For me, at least the initial reason I wanted to create this thread, was because of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan.

I just finished the show recently and have to admit that Lordgenome himself is just a walking Crowning Moment of Awesome, but particularly the second half of episode 15 stands out as one of the single most epic moments in anime for me when he bursts from his own cockpit and PUNCHES Lagaan off. Also Kamina's death in episode 8 was a serious mood twist from how the show seemed in the first few episodes, I literally sat there for a few moments before believing what I just saw happen, it didn't help that he came back for all of 5 minutes before dying for real

The Giga Drill Breaker was a very awesome moment, hell the entire series seems to operate on rule of awesome lol. But I wouldn't say that move is the standout reason why I found it so great. Announcing it for the first time was great, but it didn't leave me speechless or make me literally yell "Holy ****" like the other two moments xD.

I've yet to see anyone that didn't say 'Oh **!" at that moment if they werent spoiled first. As for crowning moments of awesome, there is a lot of them. Off the top of my head, in ergo proxy when vince goes ergo on purpose for the first time to save rel from that fat proxy when sagara from FMP smashes his fist into that laptop when he gets orders to leave kaname, really showed his inner emotions for the first time. and at the end when he tells mithril were to stick it. The haircut scene was awesome too. in claymore (manga) when clare goes spiderlope for the first time and the SUPERB scene in planetes the 'smoking episode' especially the end, and when tanabe carried that whore on her back and in the end choose the right thing even tho it cost her greatly and the proposal was awesome In monster, when runge goes GAR and whoops roberto's . A Dead Spy Rage-Inducing Troll Princess Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: At the Gala Posts: 2,468 Blog Entries: 47	I liked the part in Bleach where Orihime finally grew a spine as she and Ishida thoroughly curb-stomped Ulquiorra after Ichigo died. It was a truly stunning bout of character development for Ichigo's nakama, and I must give props to Kubo for having the balls to permanently kill off the main character and focus on his friends instead. And yes, we all know Ichigo's death won't stick forever now that we're well into the Retrieval arc, but at least there's still great suspense built up before they bring him back with the final Dragon Ball Hogyoku. Also, I liked when Aizen used the consumed souls of his remaining Espada to create the King's Key, trolling all of Gotei in the process. I mean, I saw it coming and all, but damn did I ever enjoy the look on the surviving captains' faces when Aizen left them all for dead afterwords. After being left for dead with his gloves destroyed and a gaping hole in his abdomen, he cuts a transmutation circle in the back of his hand, uses that and a flint from his lighter to burn the wound closed, then drags himself to the room where Lust is and burns her all to hell over and over. MAGNIFICENT. Episode 26 Ed finding Al's body by the gate, and after being dragged away, PUNCHES OPEN the Gate of Truth, then while being dragged away again, promises Al that he'll come back. Epic. Episode 59 Mustang goes blind. That just left me reeling and off balance for a couple of days after reading that in the manga the first time. The ending of Gunbuster. In a last gasp attempt to save humanity from the threat of the space monsters, Gunbuster's final attack ends up throwing Noriko and Kazumi 12,000 years into the future. The words "Welcome Home" lighting up at the end is one of the most emotional and bittersweet moments I've ever seen in anime. Episode 94 of Maison Ikkoku When Godai finally proposes to Kyoko in one of the most emotional and honest scenes I've ever seen in anime. The whole episode he goes about trying to find the "right way" to propose to her, but in the end, the circumstances around the proposal were less important than the simple truth about how they felt about each other. And Kyoko's response is one of the most classic moments in anime, especially in light of her status as a widow. "Just promise me one thing. Promise me... even if by only a day... you'll outlive me." Episode 96 of Maison Ikkoku This is how you end a series. Godai's selfless moment in front of Souichiro's grave, which effectively showed not only his growth as a man but also allowed Kyoko to finally put her husband to rest, then of course there's the wedding and reception... but what really sells this is the epilogue, which shows how everyone has moved on in the months afterward. When Godai and Kyoko come back to Ikkoku with their newborn baby in tow, and they start playing the instrumental "Kanashimi o Konnichiwa"with the voice over from the first time Godai and Kyoko met... I -still- tear up. __________________ "You told me I couldn't kill you, but I'd like to try and prove you wrong!
