For my money, I have to say the Star Blazers OP/ED pieces. They're GAR enough that the first ad I saw for the second season was simply a picture of the crew and a snippet of the 2nd season OP:
A cry for help, a desperate plight makes our Star Force reunite... You really don't get much more manly than the ED for the first and second seasons though. A huge fanfare, lots of explosions, the firing of the Wave Motion Gun and the following lyrics: ... Danger lurking everywhere But we know we've got to dare Evil men with evil schemes They can't destroy all our dreams We must be strong and brave Our home we've got to save We must make the fighting cease So Mother Earth will be at peace Through all the fire and the smoke We will never give up hope If we can win the Earth will survive We'll keep peace alive With our Star Blazers The line about "through all the fire and the smoke, we will never give up hope" almost sounds like it could have been lifted from Tengen Toppen Gurren Lagann, doesn't it? Which is my runner up for the second most manly theme, which is that insert song of "Liberate Me From Hell", from TTGL. It's not the lyrics that are quite so manly as the entire piece of music serving as the backdrop for the action on screen. Manly tears can safely be shed at that time.
