Question on highschool of the dead

On the anime the next episode preview episode 9 is chapter 17 on the manga why are they not fallowing the manga and instead changing the anime. The manga is good and id recommend it staying on course instead of eluding the story and changing. that being said what will happen to the anime if they descide to release chap 17 will that mean it will completely change or just that part will not be included?

Most changes from the Manga are usually because the Manga isn't finished yet and filler is needed or because the director doesn't like it.
