TTGL Movies
I was wondering if the two movies were any good. I saw a tweet just a little bit ago for a "limited edition" DVD for The Lights in the Sky Are Stars. Are the two movies just a re-hash of the series? Are they worth watching?

Instead of just screaming "YES, Go watch it fool!!", I'll utter these five words to you;
Super. Tengen. Toppa. Gurren. Lagann. You'll see what I mean. |

By your comments I would assume that you liked them just as much if not more than the series then. Is it a re-hash with some new stuff thrown in? The descriptions on MAL make it sound like it is.

Basically. It's pretty much the abridged version of the main series, that's actually done pretty well in the movie format it's in, though, I don't know if I could recommend it as a stand alone product since it helps if you've already seen the series, but I mean, who hasn't at this point.
The only two scenes I can rememeber from the top of my head that were different was the fight between Dai-Gurren Dan and the four generals and the final battle, which I have to say, was leaps and bounds better than the original. And this is from someone who got goosebumps everytime I watched the original fight. As for it being better than the main series, I wouldn't really say that (other than the ending), but they both definitly have their place. |

My main issue with the movies (the 2nd mostly) was the music. The tracks were the same (good), just not used as well. The transformation to Chouginga Gurren Lagann is a good example.
