I might aswell break the ice here and test your skill.

Lately my computer have been very slow when it shuts down. I press the "Shutdown" button in the start menu and it for some reason takes awhile for it to show those other 3 buttons (Restart, log out and shutdown). It takes about 1-3 minutes and I find it weird. Overall my computer works fine.

Let me just get this straight. Your first "advice" is for him to download a subpar anti-virus program, which you have provided an illegal serial for.

Second, I can't believe you think upgrading from XP to Win7 is appropriate for a minor fix. There are a mountain of reasons I use XP over Win7, and i've maintained a clean system for several years without requiring a format. It's simple to do. Not even factoring in the cost of upgrading your operating system. Terrible answer.

I'm suprised you didn't tell him to try restarting and to make sure all the cables are properly connected.

Windows 7 is superiour to windows XP,

Last, if the hard disk cable was loose then the OS wouldnt boot in the first place,

First, pirated software isn't permitted here, I reccomend you read the FAQ.

Second, you're a moron. 'Superior' is completely based on opinion, and you've offered little to support your reasoning. Futhermore, the idea that someone should shell out money to upgrade an operating system to fix a minor slow-down problem is ridiculous. If your assuming that everyone is just going to pirate it like you do then you've got no business giving people advice, since your so-called 'support' consists entirely of telling them to go steal software.

Its not for a minor slowdown, its to never experience slowdowns,

and fyi windows deserves to be pirated, becouse it would suck if I bought it

Ok, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. You don't even know if his hardware can support Win7 in the first place, and ontop of that, I could list half a dozen reasons off the top of my head why several other factors not related to operating system could cause slowdown.

Secondly, it's still illegal, and it's still against the rules on this forum. If you can't afford it then that's too bad, that dosen't mean you suddenly get to steal it and everything is ok.


You're using a blanket statement that "Win7 is better" to fix his problem, rather than identifying the cause and applying the appropriate solution. Smart computing is identifying what you need and what problems may arise, and then creating the best possible solution. You can hardly call "just reformat" 'tech support'. I've seen more competent techs at a Best Buy.

Windows 7 runs better than windows xp, if he can run XP he can run windows 7 becouse ive run windows 7 on my very old 633mhz/64mbram/8mb vram PC

Im not saying pirating is good, i hate doing it and i will buy software when i have a good job, i never said its right what i do,

Virusses COULD be the cause, you have to try everything to make sure,
and for ****s sake the win xp to 7 was a TIP becouse 7 runs way better than XP, stop ****ing around on the same post
