Three series which I've watched recently which had terrible endings are Baccano, Witchblade, and Blassreiter. There are others but it would take too long to make a comprehensive list.

Cheeky Angel - I usually don't watch gender bender anime, but it was pretty funny....unfortunately the ending was a one episode desperate attempt to wrap things up that left me wondering about a lot of stuff...like wtf was her original gender anyway
