The Official Final Fantasy XIII Thread

The game comes out in just a few more days and it's weird, but I'm think I'm finally starting to get a bit excited for it, especially when I randomly see a TV spot for it (That strangely only shows it available for the 360. Oh Silly Micro$oft). Might even go pick up my copy via the midnight release at Gamestop, but I'm not 100% sure on that yet.

Gamespot: 8.5/10
Gametrailers: 8.6
IGN: 8.9 (AU) 8.4, (UK) 8.3

Out of all those review so far, I think the 1up one answers most of my concerns about the game. Plus Jeremy Parish knows his **** about RPG's, and more times than not his ideas and thoughts are very similar to my own, so I at least know we're coming from the same train of thought.

I sold my 360 a few months ago because I wasn't using it anymore, but I keep thinking about buying another one because of this.

I can't miss out on a new FF.

I almost imported it, but since SE localized it about 3-4 months faster than I had expected, I held off. Now it's finally here, and I can't wait. Monday will probably be a big game day for me (I'm also planning on buying Bioshock 2 and Star Ocean 4), then I'll be hanging around at Play N' Trade for the midnight release.

It'll be my last week off before returning to work, so I imagine I'll be spending almost all week playing the game and trying to beat it before I return to work.

Got the collectors so comes with other bits anyway

I wonder what the fallout will be when fans learn the shocking secret that the girly looking hero in this Final Fantasy game is actually a girl this time.

Going to pick it up next week, but to be honest, I've never been less excited for a Final Fantasy game. Normally I'm psyched. Just not feeling this one. Hopefully that changes once I play it.

FFXIII = good game but you'll forget about it really quick too. it's not memorable / impact as past final fantasys

Went to preorder the book today..
They had it there so they gave it to me... wish they had of given me the game too

Can't wait to play it. First game I've actually preordered. Unfortunately, I only get to play it about a week after it releases, and I doubt I can beat it in the short amount of time I have home before I end up going back to school.

I wonder what EVERYTHING in that post is

I'm assuming its file names of particular items on the discs, although I've no idea what Cut is.

So hanging out for this game, I know everyone's saying it's good but not memorable etc.
I'm still hoping it brings back some of that nostalgia that was FF7 and FF8 for me.
I can only hope.
I've been looking forward to this game for the last 2 or so years, ever since they announced it was in production.

I might have to go read through my strategy guide and get excited some more haha.

Cut is the percentage missing from the 360 version that is present in the PS3 version.

Looks like 360 got pretty gimped in the end...

As far as I'm aware, those files are containers; combination of many different things such as textures, fmvs, audio, and so on. Like how .AVI is a container of an AUDIO and a VIDEO File (or was it .MOV, I honestly don't remember).

What I want to know is what in the world z009 is.....they took out something for the Xbox version, but what?

So did they just downgrade the textures/cut the resolution on the FMV's for the 360 or what?
