I happen to prefer the heroes who don't let those pesky laws or human rights to get in the way. Spawn and the Punisher are fun that way.

Marvel: Iron Man, Deadpool
DC: Batman, Green Lantern

I like superheroes who don't really have super powers in the "can fly for some physics-defying reason" sense. I like Iron Man and Batman because they're geniuses who basically gave themselves superpowers (and even then, bats basically has a utility belt and wits).

I like Green Lantern because the ring is alien technology, and it's the kind of versitile power I'd like to have.

Deadpool is cool because he constantly breaks the fourth wall, and has a nifty teleporter belt. Plus guns and swords, which aren't powers, but still kick arse.
