Yeah I saw it last night. It's nice to see new anime on Adult Swim again. The dubbing was good! But I really miss Alphonse's old voice, even though the new kid sounds cute. Ah but so goes puberty and a lengthy pause in continuation. I'm glad Edward's voice is still the same, I thought his fit well.

The animation was good too by the way.

Yes it is great to see new anime on Adult swim, i was getting tired of some of old ones like bleach which i saw multiple times. Yeah so glad they didnt change Edward's voice, The animation was great. It was also pretty funny at times, but this was just a filler episode, cant wait to see the rest.

Yea, I was quite worried about how Al's voice was gonna be, but it wasn't too far off from the original (though slightly more girly,) but I was happy with it.

I stopped watching Adult Swim years ago- this might be the reason I start watching it again (well, the anime on it anyway.)

Why? On AS you can see the series for "free" and it gets the show out to a larger audience.

The voices were a good match for the characters. A lot of the dialogue seemed kind of corny, but I'm not sure if it's the translation or the original writing. Still, I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Yeah i have not watched anything on adult swim for a while, this is a good change in pace to start bringing a wider audience back. I was kind of worried when i found out they were airing a new anime, never thought it would of been this.

Agreed. Anime has been in a slump lately and a show at this quality could make a big difference.

I didn't watch it, but this news makes me happy.

Yeah, but i wonder how many will see the first few episodes and dump it thinking its the same thing with more simplistic animation. In the beginning its nearly the same stories.

Yeah, I wish they had more clearly promoted it as a reboot. (i.e. "The version you haven't seen!!")

A version that's more manga-faithful, perhaps?

There was a "bump" that promoted it as: "A gritty retelling of the story that's closer to the original manga" during the half-way point of GITS (easy to miss though & I don't know if it was aired at any other time).

And "gritty"? We'll see.

I haven't actually seen brotherhood yet, but I noticed that it got the 17+ rating opposed to FMA's 13+, so I'm guessing they did something to it.
