I can hook ya up with the Korean ebay seller I got mine from... last I heard he's still got GGG + Goldymarg sets. PM me...
(Yeah, even though it was a Christmas present, I tracked it down myself. )Incidentally, the toys are by the original manufacturer of Transformers, Takara. This particular one was manufactured under license in Korea by Sonokong, but still it's the Takara design. Last edited by Soluzar; December 25th, 2009 at 09:48 AM. |

Double rainbow!

A great day has arrived! Although my Christmas gift is late, it is no less welcome, since it is in fact the mighty Yuusha-Oh GaoGaiGar! The box is simply enormous, and the toy within only slightly less so. It is with no small sense of occasion that I open this package, since GaoGaiGar is a favourite of mine no less than Gunbuster or Gaiking and the toy is easily the largest thing in my robot collection.
![]() ![]() Even though it's not a kit, I thought I'd start with some unboxing shots, because... well, because it comes in several different pieces. As you can see, GaiGar is the main component, and can transform to Galeon. Gai himself is only present by implication, since you can't ever really see him one he has performed fusion. The additional parts are StealthGao, DrillGao and LinerGao, just as you'd expect. The two little bits you can see off to the sides are SteathGao's jet turbines which also serve as GaoGaiGar's forearms. The orange piece above LinerGao is a dividing driver. ![]() ![]() First things first, GaiGar is cool... but there's a whole step prior to that in the process. I decided to transform GaiGar into Galeon for the first posed shot. It seems the right way to go about things. To capture each step in the process. I don't know how long it will be before I disassemble GaoGaiGar again, once Final Fusion is complete. ![]() FUSION... AUTHORISED! The basic form of the toy, GaiGar. It has a lot of hinged and jointed parts to accomodate various transformations, and the accuracy is high. I've been thoroughly impressed with this toy so far. I'll wait until after I've had a reply to post pictures of any other forms, since I've reached my limit for this post. Goldymarg alone wouldn't cost more than $50, but you probably wouldn't find the set for that much. My apologies for the lateness of my reply. If you search ebay for "Takara/Sonokong DX GaoGaiGar" you'll find a few different sellers have toys from this range. Last edited by Soluzar; December 30th, 2009 at 06:38 AM. |

^Not to ruin the thread or Christmas mood, but I hope you didn't spend too much on your Korean GaoGaiGar (or whatever the hell the nationalist Korean name for him is...).

Ehh... it was a fair chunk of change, but not a fortune. It was a present, so I didn't spend the money myself. It's definitely not a bootleg or cheap knockoff, Sonokong produce Takara/Tomy toy ranges under license, it is identical in all aspects other than the packaging to a Takara toy.

^Yeah, sorry for that. I've got a shorter clip that was dubbed into English from Korean but it's on a VHS somewhere...

I just put together my first ever model kit! It's not a Super Robot but I wanted to post it anyway!
It's a SD MSN-04 Sazabi! ![]() Of all the model kits in the world, why a SD Gundam series kit, and why Char's Sazabi, you ask? Well I thought it was cute and I wanted to start small. ![]() It's so dinky! ![]() (click through for full size images)
