The Zanpaktou Rebellion Arc

Well, it's not bad. It's actually quite intriguing. I had a bit of fun trying to figure out which Shinigami each Zanpaktou character belongs to. I feel somewhat inclined to continue watching this as though it were canon material. I guess that Ichigo and crew will be able to show off their powers moreso this arc since they won't be overshadowed by the Shinigami.

I on the other hand did not enjoy this in the least, nor do I expect to do so for the remainder of it's run (which I guess will be long since it has it's own ED). The 'Zanpakutou given form' designs are among the worst character designs I've ever seen, filler or not. And thankfully this IS filler, so it can be considered throw away material.

I've read that Kubo helped work on the designs, so it does have that Bleach, non-filler look to it. Also, seeing as how the actual plot of Bleach, when there is one, seems to move at a snail's pace, I'm beginning to consider the well done filler arcs, that have input from Kubo, as stories that could've been.

I thought it was pretty good but I judge it based off of what it is, not whether it was in a comic book first.

Bleach canon, outside of like 8 episodes, is nothing but, "let's goto place x and fight 50 people back to back". I don't know why folk hold that in such high regard that they refuse to give anything not written by Kubo a chance, whether it's good or not.

@SonRyu... are you for real? Have you actually seen Bleach recently? The released forms for the majority of the arrancar look pretty mediocre compared to the glimpse of characters shown in this episode. You really hold the elephant guy, Halibel's animal posse, Nel & Friends, the queer arrancar, the fencing guy's crab arm release, Ulquiorra's boring form, the crazy doctor's spider web release, the afro arrancar, any hollow less than a Menos and all the other goofy looking stuff in Bleach in such high regards?

So I guess Renji did change what his zanpaktou spirit looked like. It was a baboon with a snake for a tail before. If not I guess these are just forms given through the power of Muramasa.

As this was clearly directed at me as well, since I was the only one with a negative post: This will get it's chance. Just like every other anime filler arc, I'll watch it all the way through. However, my initial reaction will stay the same; bad designs are bad designs, and a plot I don't like will stay that way as well. If this was canon, I still wouldn't like it, so it doesn't matter if it was Kubo's idea or not (I don't always like/agree with manga arcs either, I just don't express my opinion regularly).

For the record however, I also dislike most of Kubo's 'badguy designs', including, but not limited to, "Halibel's animal posse, Nel & Friends, the queer arrancar, the fencing guy's crab arm release, Ulquiorra's boring form, the crazy doctor's spider web release, the afro arrancar", and "any hollow less than a Menos". However, I only mentioned my dislike for the filler character designs since this is a discussion about the episode. I wasn't talking about the manga, and I certainly didn't say anything even remotely close to holding any of the manga character designs "in such high regards". As much as I dislike some of Kubo's manga designs (as you were so kind to list some of), I dislike the filler character designs even more, thus my statement that they "are among the worst character designs I've ever seen".

Will Kenpachi finally meet his official zanpakto, and will they fight it out or hug it out?

I'm very excited about this Arc it has potential to be probably the best side Arc yet, Kenpachi I think will be one of the key factors in this Arc as he has never even been able to release his Zanpakto so that has to come into play in some way or form, but obviously this Arc is going to be used to show off Ichigo and his non Shinigami crew's abilities and make them seem important again. Bring on the next episode =)

The whole idea still pisses me off. The only one I could see rebelling is Kenpachi's Zanpaktou for obvious reasons. But as it has been stated many many times in the past, if a Shinigami isn't in 'harmony' with thier Zanpaktou they can't use its full potential. Why would they suddenly want to 'rebel' after they have been coexsisting for hundreds of years?

I'm intrigued, but I can't see the idea of an arc without Ichigo.

Not sure where you guys are getting the idea that Ichigo wont be in it. He's obviously the only one un-affected by whatever is going on, which means he'll swoop in to save the day.

Just watched it... looks good (even if it is filler). Ichigo will probably be the one to save the day since he's still hanging out with Zangetsu.

I was hoping it would be straight up SS with Kido and regular sword fighting skill vs these guys...and that Kenpachi would save the day.
