Anyone watching Tokyo Magnitude 8.0?

I gotta say, I wasn't that into the first episode (until near the end) but the second episode was an absolute doozy...

Haven't seen an anime with quite this sense of terror and fear since Barefoot Gen... Not that I'm comparing it to BG as far as overall quality, but still this was damned good.

I haven't seen episode two. But I'm definitely anticipating it to be awesome. The end of episode one gave me a feeling of slight "terror". I hope two is great.

Yes and it is quite good so far. I haven't seen episode 3 yet and I'm curious about her parent's situation. You know, if they're alive or missing.

I love the milf that appeared, she is freakin awesome. Im looking forward to more of this.

What amazes me about the little girl, is that she didnt seem to learn her lesson yet...I almost hope she finds the twisted remains of her parents...well maybe thats too harsh...

Thoughts/Ep.3

I think Mirai is just your typical condescending preteen feeling themselves out, she'll come around sort of does in 3 which expands the devastation a little more while still giving us some flicker of light, as I said before this show really knows how to capture the fear and mass hysteria very well.
Those 2 are lucky to have such a cool adult like Mari around.

I love how these aftershocks are perfectly placed as plot devices with each episode.

Anyways, just got back from episode four. It's going pretty good so far.

Great scene, but one thing about that kinda had me slapping my forehead.

I thought the same thing! Seriously they ran perpendicular to the fall! I know they're young, but Mirai is like 13! She should've been smart enough to realize that a horizontal escape would be much more favorable.

TOKYO – A strong earthquake shook Japan's capital and surrounding areas Sunday, halting trains and a professional baseball game, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

There was no threat of a tsunami from the quake, which was centered at a depth of 188 miles (303 kilometers) in the Izu islands off the eastern coast of Japan, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The USGS measured the quake at magnitude 7.1, while the Japan Meteorological Agency put it at 6.9.

The quake, which rattled furniture and walls in Tokyo homes, hit at 7:56 p.m. (1056 GMT) and shook the capital region, including Ibaraki, Saitama, Tochigi and Chiba prefectures, the Japanese agency said.

A baseball game in Yokohama between the Yokohama Bay Stars and Chunichi Dragons was stopped temporarily by the umpire when the quake struck. Some high-speed bullet trains also were halted, but began running again after the shaking stopped, public broadcaster NHK said.

Japan is one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries, and experts believe Tokyo has a 90 percent chance of being hit by a major quake over the next 50 years.

In 1995, a magnitude-7.2 quake in the western port city of Kobe killed 6,400 people.

Episode five was pretty good. Glad to see our girl is finally starting to develop out of her brat-phase. I was a little touched by it, actually.
