Pre-order Bonuses

If you hear of any cool preorder bonuses for games, be sure to post them in this thread.

Mirror's Edge (PS3, 360) - 11/12

Gamestop - preorder from gamestop and receive a full size Messenger bag modeled after the one in the game. It's supposedly large enough to hold a PS3, and has multiple compartments. Bag should be available when the game is released.

Best Buy - preorder and get a CD containing the full "Remix" version of the Mirror's Edge theme song "Still Alive" by Lisa Miskovsky. This is the vocal version of the song used in the original trailers. You also get a code to access the Time Trial mode in the demo, but it doesn't mention when the demo will be out.

Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) - 11/05

Gamestop - preorder and get a mini-artbook (comes with game)

Ar Tonelico 2: Melody of Metafalica (PS2) - Mid December

Rosenqueen - preorder from online store and get an artbook, original soundtrack, bonus soundtrack (with 31 songs not on the original soundtrack), and bonus mini-artbook.

Fallout 3 Collector's Edition: Vault Boy bobblehead, The Art of Fallout 3 hardcover, The Making of Fallout 3 DVD, Vault-Tec Lunch Box. (I limited myself to this one)

Fallout 3 Survival Edition (domestic U.S., Amazon exclusive?): Collector's Edition goodies + life-size Pip Boy 3000 (digital clock).

Universal platform goodies, IIRC.

I always throw things away that are "bonus". I don't see it as an extra, I'd rather them just lower the price instead.

Well the things I mention are free extras. Bradster mentioned a couple things that are in special editions, which aren't free.

I love getting free pre-order goodies, especially soundtracks and artbooks.

I wish America would get the LE bonuses that Japan gets, but then again, Americans are too cheap.

I think he means in general, Americans aren't willing to shell out the extra $$ for limited editions like the Japanese are.

Most Japanese limited edition games/systems tend to come with cooler(albeit more expensive items) because they know people will snatch them up.

Granted, I'm just guessing at his meaning.

If you pre-order Left 4 Dead at Gamestop (360 or PC version) you get $5 the actual purchase (I'm not talking the $5 minimum down payment either), and get early access to the demo.

Red Alert 3 for the PC comes with free aids spyware and a rootkit. I don't know what a rootkit is, buti t sounds like something a dentist would do.

My bad, went to post before understanding sunk in. Fallout 3's the only game I've ever preordered (not really a gamer), and those were the goodies I thought of. I did just get an email link to download my free Fallout 3 desktop wallpaper though....

Hmmmmm. Post-apocalyptic wallpaper for your house. Now there's a freebie worth getting... Wake up every morning to a scene of nuclear devastation!
