May I know what's the difference between the 2nd EVA film from the anime episodes? How much does it differ from the previous incarnation?
An improvement or worse?
Who're the new characters, etc?

From what I've been told, the similarities between the TV series and the Rebuild movies ended in the first movie. The second movie has few or no similarities to the episodes, although it seems that Sangouki (Unit 03) is still involved.

So, has anyone seen the movie with subtitles? I did, it sucks. The script is like a lazy fanfiction, everything I loved about Evangelion was replaced by fanservice and self indulgence. Mari sucks, it's just an otaku wet dream without any other purpose beyond selling more PVC figures; I doubt she will get better in Evangelion 3.0.

Yeah, it has some pretty colors but Evangelion wasn't about pretty colors.

I've let other people subject themselves to the ordeal and relied on what they had to say.

But then the 1.0 next episode preview already looked like it was trailing something from a script off of ff.net, and nothing I've read or seen since has contradicted that impression.

I heard "You are (not) alone" replaces the original episodes 1-6

What episodes does "You can (not) advance" replace ?
